ABBREVIATIONS

sl=slip (skip the first peg with yarn behind the peg)

k=knit (sample used the knit stitch)

p=purl

co=cast on (sample used the chain cast on at the beginning)

bo=bind off

bbo=basic bind off method

rnd(s)=round(s)

k2tog=knit two together (knit the pegs with 2 loops on it as one loop, thus decreasing the loops on those pegs by one)

8stLC=Cable with 8 stitches, left slanting

8stRC=Cable with 4 stitches, right slanting

PATTERN NOTES

This pattern uses the new cable technique taught in Loom Knit Cables Ebook.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 26 stitches on the loom as follows: *One stitch per peg on pegs 1-4, 4 on peg 5, 4 on peg 6, one on peg 7, one on peg 8, 4 on peg 9, 4 on peg 10, one on pegs 11-14. (26 stitches total on 14 pegs).

Row 1: sl1, k to end

Row 2: sl1, p to end

Row 3: as 1

Row 4: as 2

Row 5: as 1

Row 6: as 2

Row 7: sl1, k3, k8, k2, k8, k4

Row 8: sl1, p3, k8, p2, k8, p3, k1

Row 9: as Row 7

Row 10: as Row 8

Row 11: as Row 7

Row 12: as Row 8

Row 13: sl1, p3, 8stLC, p2, 8stRC, p3, k1 Row 14: as Row 8

Rep Row 7-Row 14: until headband measures 20 inches in length

    Very interesting pattern! I have never knit off a loom before and I’ve been knitting over 65 years!
    Wondering if I can get the same results w/ a circular needle.
    This pattern does not say the size of needle or type of yarn that should be used.

    1. The pattern is knit with a small gauge knitting loom, KB Round Loom Set, 26 pegs needed.
