Kitchener Stitch

Kitchener Stitch

This will create a seamless closure. (Do not use bind off). You will move stitches from your loom onto 2 double-pointed knitting needles. Place the instep stitches, (half of your pegs) onto one double-pointed knitting needle. Place the remaining stitches, sole stitches, onto second double-pointed needle.

Set up: Needle closest to you will be known as the “Front needle”. Needle behind will be known as “Back needle”. Use tapestry needle with matching sock yarn to sew the loops off the needles. Start sewing at the right side of the double-pointed needles.

1. Insert tapestry needle through the first stitch from the RIGHT side of st, on the FRONT NEEDLE as if to purl. Leave stitch on the knitting needle.
