Rows 6-11: ewrap knit row
Bring up cast on row and place it back on the pegs. Knit to the end of the row making sure you treat the two loops on the peg as one loop.
Rows 12-15: (p2, ew4) repeat for row.
Rows 16-19: ew2 (p2, ew4) repeat for row, end on ew2.
Rows 20-23: (ew4, p2) repeat for row.
Repeat rows 12-23 three times.
Decrease half the stitches for a tighter bind off. (Move stitch from peg 1 to peg 2 and knit over, move stitch from peg 3 to peg 4 and knit over, move stitch from peg 5 to peg 6 and knit over) repeat for remainder of row until half the stitches remain.
Bind off remaining stitches by using the gather bind off method.
Weave in yarn tails and set aside.
In a contrast yarn create a 9″ strap.
Ewrap cast on 5 pegs, prepare to work as a flat panel. Skip the first stitch in every row to create a nice even edge.
Row 1: purl row
Row 2: ewrap knit row
Repeat rows 1-2 for a total of 9″ in length, bind off.
Weave in ends.
Attach the strap just above the visor using the accent buttons.

I just love the look of this visor beanie and am certainly going to give it a go as soon as I can get the right looms which I hope are not too far away. 🙂
Cando this on flexee
Yes this can be knit on Flexee Loom Skinny.
I can’t wait to make this hat! The design is very trendy and modern. Much cuter than anything store bought! Hats are my favorite things to loom!
Thank you so much for this pattern! I love visor beanies and this is adorable! As soon as i saw your pattern I started making it for my daughter, her birthday is in April. Thank you also for the notes on short rowing, i have never done them before and they are the greatest help to me. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern! I will post a pic when i have finished it. 🙂
Thank-you for pattern. I will give it a try . Love my rotating loom.
Sorry, but instructions are extremely confusing. Wish there was a video for this one. You have “Rows 1-5 (see notes for row by row instruction).” That section is 30 rows. Then you go back to Row 6. Do you make the 30 Rows, then go back to Row 6? There are many other instructions that are difficult to understand as well. “Pick up the wraps and the stitch together.” What are you doing exactly? Are you knitting 2 bottom stitches over a top stitch? There is no instruction to knit, it just says “pick up.” That doesn’t give me any further instruction. After I pick them up, what am I doing with them?
You first work the ewrap cast on and then the 5 ewrap knit rows. You then work the visor. This does not count toward the row count since it is short row shaping. Once the short row shaping is done you then work in the round. Once that is complete you bring up the cast on edge as you would to make any other brim. There is now 2 loops on each peg. You ewrap the row and knit both loops over the top loop treating them as one.
I want to thank you so, so much for the step by step instructions on the short rowing. I am new to them. I just finished all of the short rowing and it was so easy with your instructions and the visual aid of watching what was happening with my stitches, it has given me great confidence to tackle short rowing in the future. I really appreciate designers such as yourself giving freely to everyone. I would have gladly paid for the pattern. It is awesome! Can’t wait for it to be finished, but i am taking my time, so as not to make any mistakes. I just wanted to say again, Thank you very much! <3
I guess I am one of those that also need the video…I did the cast on, did the 5 rows, started the visor…the visor is curling…I do not understand what I have done wrong, used worsted yarn…maybe too thin…I just don’t know.
Your work will curl but once you bring up the cast on row and place on the pegs it will not.
Thank you…I think and hope I have it!!!
Denise Johnson. What does W&T mean?
W&T is wrap and turn. The same technique you use for socks.
Love love love this hat and truly appreciate you sharing this beauty. Just reading the pattern confused me but after reading others posts I thought I’d just jump in. Everything was going smoothly until I hit row 17 in the short rows. I am lost and confused. Am I wrapping peg 25 and then moving it to 26 (to get my 3 loops) and if so how can I then wrap 25 on row 18, etc? Perhaps a photo could help? Sorry to be the obvious dunce here.
I was so confused and because I’ve never heard of short rows before (love learning new things on the loom!). I found this video about W&T that made the lightbulb go off in my head. Two new things I learned!!! Hopefully this helps someone else.

I would love to make this hat, but I have a hard time following patterns, is there any videos available to show me what to do.
No, there is no video for this hat pattern.
I have a granddaughter who is 6 years old and loves this type of hat with the visor. Is there any chance you could help on how to do this for her head size. This adult size would be too large. Thank you for all your ideas…….
I am sorry we do not have the pattern for smaller size heads.
