Ribbing Stitch

Ribbing Stitch

This is a great stitch for cuffs, hems, and turtlenecks. This stitch is similar to the stockinette, except that it’s done at an angle. Work with even number of stitches.

1. Start weaving at 1st pin, top board, and go to the 3rd pin on bottom board, and continue weaving every other pin to end.

2. At end of board, you will have 2 pins that require a wrap that are consecutive; this is correct.

3. Turn board around and wrap every other pin again, 1 to 3. You are now wrapping at an opposite angle. This is what creates the ribbing. Be sure to wrap all pins. Hook over all pins to complete the row.
